Dr. Lynette Gillis was Founding Adviser to the Bell Institute for Learning Design @ Fleming (BILD)—an eLearning research, development and training facility located in Fleming College, Ontario, Canada. Lynette helped shape the Institute’s vision and advised on the selection and use of educational technologies.
The Institute serves as the focal point for Fleming College’s eLearning design and production services. It also offers workshops and consulting services on curriculum development, learning design and educational technology to other educational institutions, trainers and corporate clients.
Lynette also created a five-week eLearning workshop, Designing Technology Enhanced Learning, to teach the essentials of developing successful online training cultures.
The initial workshop began with a four-week online component (synchronous and asynchronous techniques, small group projects, and interactive exercises). It concluded with a week-long residential workshop (case studies and design simulations). It covered videoconferencing, audio-conferencing, elearning and multimedia and involved experts from across Canada and the U.S.
