Quality Evaluation Standards & Audit Ontario Schools
In 1985, Dr. Lynette Gillis was retained to lead one of North America’s earliest and most ambitious initiatives to develop quality courseware for the classroom. The Ontario Ministry of Education launched a $50 million computer education program to develop high quality courseware titles for Ontario students.

Dr. Gillis was retained to develop the evaluation criteria and quality assurance and process to ensure the learning effectiveness of educational software developed for Ontario classrooms.

Lynette conducted field-test evaluations on more than 60 courseware titles in actual classroom settings to assess the interactive design and pedagogical effectiveness of Ontario Ministry and School board-funded software. The courseware types included tutorials, music, art and business packages, science simulations, games, databases, and network applications.
