Canada Customs and Revenue Agency (CCRA) engaged Learning Designs Online to conduct a “benchmark” assessment of its elearning initiatives. In the spirit of continuous improvement, the organization’s goal was to enhance it’s ability to deliver high quality learning effectively and efficiently through the CCRA Learning Site to more than 45,000 employees.
At the time of the benchmarking study, some 50 elearning products were available online including: CBT, CD-ROM, modified instructor-led, and self-study courses.
The evaluation focused on two areas: 1) the elearning design strategies and processes adopted by the Learning Services group, and 2) the instructional quality of its elearning products. A key objective throughout was to help the CCRA learning professional assess the organization’s strengths and weaknesses relative to the current best practices in the rapidly evolving elearning industry.
The key questions:
- What progress has been made in elearning at CCRA relative to industry best practice?
- What changes and new developments are taking place in the field of elearning at large?
- How can elearning products be enriched and design processes refined to improve learning and performance at CCRA?
